Carey was once a popular fashion model. She is 5'10" tall and was sought-after by the famous American designers, such as Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, etc. Her father was an outstanding geologist who was in 1979 named Scientist of the Year by the Rocky Mountain Association of Geologists. Carey has traveled throughout the world as a result his career. When she was a student at an institution called the University of Colorado, Carey started modeling for a side. An agent from Ford model agency located in New York noticed her and was willing to assist. In 1980, she moved to France and briefly lived in Paris and Bordeaux, before returning to New York in order to continue her modeling career. The model was featured on Vogue as well as Glamour cover. In addition to modeling, she went to New York University full-time to get a literature degree. When she arrived in New York she began to learn about acting. Her acting debut was a role in the film with Robin Williams in the 1986 film 'Club Paradise. In her spare time, she enjoys in wind surfing, skiing, rock climbing and white water river rafting.
