Anamaria Marina is a Romanian actor. Her screen debut came through the Channel 4 film Sex Traffic and was the recipient of the British Academy Television Award for Best actress. French, German English and Romanian are fluent languages. The father of her mother was an actor, and her mother was a violinist. At the Mangalia Gala for Young Actors in 2000, she took home the Best Female Actor Award 2000. The actress was in Cristian Mugiu's Romanian film "4 three weeks and 2 zile" (4 Months Three Weeks and 2 Days) which won her the Palme d'Or award at Cannes Film Festival 2007. The film also earned two other awards, The Cinema Prize of French National Education System (FIPRESCI Prize) as well as the Cinema Prize. Additionally, she was a part in the film of Francis Ford Coppola Youth Without Youth. In 2008, she played Yasim Anwar in the BBC Five-episode miniseries The Last Enemy. Marinca had roles in Oliver Hirschbiegel's Five Minutes of Heaven as well the Romanian film Boogie.
